Macie’s First Grooming! (Now she can see us)
She also just saw the vet and is up to 23 lbs! That’s 4lbs in the last 3 weeks. We think she’ll be somewhere in the 50-60lb range as an adult.

That would be our puppy Macie! She’s about 21 lbs, but looks like 15 when wet as you can see.
Macie’s Getting Bigger…and some insight on a first-time puppy owner
Stay tuned for more pictures, but suffice to say that our little puppy is growing! She was at the vet yesterday and is up to 19lbs (was ~15 three weeks ago). So, she’s right on track for an adult weight of 50-60lbs. Macie is the first Bernedoodle our vet has met, so there isn’t much in the way of guidance or weight for her.
I must admit, I really didn’t know what I was getting into as a new puppy owner. The first week was a bit rough with crate training and house breaking, but she’s really come a long way. She sleeps (or stays in her crate at night or holds it in) for about 7 hours. So, we’ll sleep from 11pm to 5am, take her for a walk, and go back to sleep for an hour or so. We find that if she gets 3-4 walks a day or goes to her puppy training, she’ll hang in the crate for those 7 hours. However, if we get lazy and only go for two walks, then she’s up at 2am whining and wanting to head out.
The absolute worst is when we leave for work. With some puppy treats, we bribe her into her downstairs crate and she is calm…until we leave the room. She’ll cry/whine for a good 10mins and then quiet down. She’s been great during the day with some help from DogGoneWalking is getting the stimulation she needs and we haven’t had an accident mid-day for a couple weeks (yay!).
Outside of random barking and her witching hour(s) which seem to coincide right after feeding times, especially at night, she’s great. Her witching hour includes barking and lots of biting her owners. Needless to say, we’re anxious to get through that stage and train her out of that behavior. Right now, she’s sleeping and I’m sure she’ll be ready for dinner very shortly…
